Work-Study Program Information
The Work-Study Program at FutureTech Academy provides students with the opportunity to work part-time on campus while receiving financial aid to help offset educational costs. It is designed to help students develop valuable work experience and earn income while attending school.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Work-Study Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree or certificate program at FutureTech Academy.
- Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need.
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress as outlined in the FutureTech Academy student handbook.
Types of Work-Study Positions
Work-study positions vary based on department needs and student qualifications. Common areas include:
- Library Assistant
- Research Assistant
- Student Services Assistant
- IT Support and Help Desk
- Administrative Assistant
- Campus Event Support
How to Apply
Follow these steps to apply for a work-study position:
- Step 1: Submit your FAFSA to determine your eligibility for work-study.
- Step 2: Check the job listings on the FutureTech Academy student portal.
- Step 3: Apply to available positions through the portal by submitting a resume and cover letter.
- Step 4: Participate in an interview for the position(s) you're interested in.
- Step 5: Accept the job offer and attend any required training sessions.
Compensation
Work-study students are paid hourly, and compensation varies depending on the position and the student's financial need. Payments are made directly to students on a bi-weekly basis, and wages are applied to the student's tuition bill or distributed via direct deposit, if requested.
